Building Works in the Church
It was with much relief and joy that the building project in the church finally got under way on 2 October after delays caused by technical issues.
The organ had already been removed from the church for a major overhaul by Bishop and Sons of Ipswich. The floor for the organ loft has now been raised to allow for extra headroom beneath and in readiness for the return of the organ once the works have been completed. Work is now well under way to provide 2 WCs and much needed storage space in the ground floor area beneath the organ. Other aspects of the project, which will include two new vestries, a servery and improvements to both porches, will follow.
The work is being undertaken by Valley Builders Limited of East Grinstead and their team John Beasley (contract manager), Mark (foreman) and Alex being in attendance daily.
The church is being kept open as much as possible during the project both for services and for visitors.
It is expected that work will continue through Christmas and into the Spring before all aspects of the project are completed.
