Harvest Auction

Nov 2, 2017 | Bits & Bobs

On Sunday evening 17 September, the annual auction of produce was held in The Cricketers by kind permission of  Craig, the landlord.

A good evening was started by Helen Vause, standing in for the Vicar, who was on his sabbatical, pulling the first pint and followed by the singing of ‘We plough the fields and Scatter’ to the accompaniment of a violin.

Some fierce bidding took place for the produce, which had been provided from donations made at the Harvest Festival Service held earlier in the day in the church and by those attending the auction.

The auction produced over £400 for the Elliott Fund, a village charity.
