Neighbourhood Plan Review – latest update
You may have recently read in the local press that, due to complex issues such as the A27 route, water treatment in the Chichester harbour catchment area and growing environmental issues, Government officials recommended that a new extended timetable for Chichester’s Local Plan be introduced. CDC advises that by taking more time now and making sure that they work with residents, businesses and partners to identify the best options, they should be able to access a quicker examination process and more importantly, deliver the right approach for the Local Plan area. This will provide communities with the certainty required moving forward. The new timetable has yet to be published, but you will find the latest information here: www.chichester.gov.uk/localplanreview or by signing up to regular updates by emailing your name and email address to email@example.com
Unfortunately, this does mean that progress on our Neighbourhood Plan Review is now also delayed. However, we have been advised to continue by collecting evidence to inform the decision making process.
The Neighbourhood Plan Review Group continues to do just that on your behalf and are currently awaiting various independent reports which will provide significant evidence and support work already achieved on site assessment and strategic Green Gaps. In addition we are applying for a Habitats Regulations Assessment to ensure that native species and their habitats are fully considered.
We will continue to keep you fully informed as the review progresses .
