As from 1st November 2011, the national non-emergency telephone number is 101.

27 December - On Tuesday night a 4x4 vehicle was seen going from house to house in Newpound Lane at 3 am in the morning. In it were two men with high visibility jackets on the back of seats and they were looking at a big sheet of paper - not a map. This was reported to the police on the non emergency number. Please report any similar sightings to the police.

7 December 2011 - Road Fatality statistics mapping tool
Britain has one of the best records in the world for road casualties. However, hundreds still die on the roads every year. In 2010, the police recorded 1,850 deaths, 22,660 people seriously injured and 184,138 who received light injuries. You may be interested to see this Road Fatality statistics / mapping tool. It is possible to see the location and summary incident data on supposedly all road fatalities between 1999-2010.
About the map: Using official data recorded by police in Great Britain between 1999 and 2010, every road collision in which someone died has been recorded. In all, 36,371 fatalities are marked on this interactive map.
