When the first questionnaire was sent to residents enabling the first Neighbourhood Plan to be drawn up for the village, the outstanding appreciation was for the green space in and around the village.  This has proved a great asset during lockdown.  In addition, there has been research showing its importance and value to people.

Researchers who looked at data involving more than 290 million people found time spent in green space, defined as open, undeveloped land with natural vegetation as well as urban greenspaces, reduces the risk of type 2 diabetes, heart disease, premature death, preterm birth, stress and high blood pressure.

Michael Mosley’s 1 thing to do a day included Green Space and making use of it. Such activity helps with both you mental and physical health and research now confirms this so don’t delay fit in a green walk today!
