I write on behalf of our Wisborough Green Horticultural Society. Reg Snelgar, who lost his amazing long life on the 20th July, was one of the most long standing members of our society, and as such was much
respected and loved. Most people will remember Reg for his expertise in growing and showing Dahlias, enjoying his connections with fellow growers and showers under the auspices of the National Dahlia Society.
In later years he grew his beautiful flowers on the allotment in Wisborough Green and, from there, was always willing to give bunches to friends, and supply our church for Harvest Festivals. He was devoted to his wife Pam, and together they gave much time and expertise to the running and organising of our shows. Pam always delighting visitors to the marquee with her display of Reg’s dahlias arranged in a basket. Thank you Reg for your skill, kindness and generosity to so many.
