After a record breaking but Covid limited race last year we’re pleased to be planning for a restriction free event this year which means the return of the Kids Colour Run!  Last year we raised over £7,000 towards village sports facilities and we hope to raise a similar amount this year. We expect about 600-700 runners in the 5 & 10k races and will have food and refreshments available on the Green throughout the event.  The course will be the same as for previous years as it’s a route that works really well and takes in most of the village.

Our race management company, NiceWork, have again arranged for temporary road closures.  This is for the safety of runners, marshals and spectators. Road closure notifications and diversions also help ensure everyone is aware of the situation and can plan ahead.  As always we hope that this will cause as little inconvenience to residents as possible and ask for your patience and support.  The closures will mainly affect through traffic which will be diverted away from the course.  Access will be provided for emergency vehicles at all times and for any residents who have to deal with an unforeseen situation.  If you have any queries please get in touch with us to discuss them. The affected roads are Western Lane, Durbans Road, Kirdford Road (up to Skiff Lane) and Newpound Lane (up to Fishers Farm) and they will be closed from 9.15 until about 11am.

We are lucky to have most of our previous years’ sponsors supporting us again as well as some new ones; Bluecoats, Lynn Murray & Co, Objective Wealth, Telefonica, Penfolds, Blokes Yoga, Village Shop, Kate Finn, Breathe Therapy,  Hands-on Massage, Pizza Trullo & the Coffee Cup to name a few.  All the money we raise goes into improving sports facilities in the village.

We really hope we can replicate the success of previous years so fingers crossed the weather is as good.  Support along the route really helps add to the atmosphere so please come out to cheer people on from your front gardens and along the route.  Finally, if you’re not running (there’s still time to enter!), but can help on the day please drop me a line at or call me on 01403 700 727.
