The bonfire night and firework display at Wisborough Green School was even more special as it marked the first proper live event that had been able to take place at the school since the start of the pandemic in 2020.There was a celebratory air as people gathered on a dry and mild night for an evening of fun.
Aurora Fireworks rose to the occasion and put on a phenomenal display for which the PTA are immensely grateful, the event simply would not happen without their support. However not to be out done the KS2 children had constructed the most amazing ‘Guys’ which were processed through the crowd before the bonfire was lit.
As usual an event like this can only succeed with the support of lots of people. The PTA extends a huge thank you to the volunteers in the run up to the event and on the night itself, to the Davis family for the generous use of their field, to the Lee family for managing the bonfire construction and ignition and to all the businesses who supported us through sponsorship to help make the event happen.
There was a welcome visit from the Billingshurst Firefighters and the children loved seeing the fire engine, not to mention the sound of the siren as they departed. Our thanks go out to them, not just for attending but for the great job that they do all year.
But our final thank you has to go to the 800 people who bought tickets to the event as well as purchasing refreshments and light up toys. This meant we raised over £3000 which really enables the PTA to support the school in improving the educational experience of the children of Wisborough Green School. We are so grateful for everyone’s generosity and look forward to welcoming you all next year for another Big Bang!
Wisborough Green School’s Marketing Club are excited to announce that the fourth edition of the school magazine ‘We Are Wisborough’ is now available.
The children have worked extremely hard to produce this latest edition and would like to thank the presenting sponsor Penfolds Estate Agent and the many advertising businesses for their continued support. Please head to Wisborough Green Stores to pick up your copy today for a suggested donation of £1.
