This term Years Five and Six are studying World War Two. The children have been enjoying a range of hands–on experiences to help them understand what life was like,School Logo including a visit from Horsham Museum and a WWII experience day.

‘I found out that everyone had a job – even children had to work by growing food.’ Alfie
‘We have been learning about propaganda and how posters were used to scare or encourage people.’   Zoe
‘Children were evacuated from the cities for their own safety. Some children were actually evacuated to Wisborough Green.’  Theia
‘It is really interesting learning about rationing. I also discovered that the government sometimes took over school buildings.’   Jack
‘I found out that gas masks contained a dangerous substance called asbestos.’  Aimee
‘We are loving building our Anderson shelters!’  Ella
