As a start to our new school year, we have been celebrating ‘Democracy Day’!
The children have been learning about what democracy is, how it works and why it is important. They then had the opportunity to put themselves forward for various important roles within the school such as School Ambassador, Eco Warrior, Librarian, Sports leader, Digital Leader and School Council. The candidates prepared campaigns and were then voted in by the rest of the school.
We were so impressed by the children’s presentations and speeches, and their enthusiasm for taking on roles and responsibilities within school and making a positive difference. The successful candidates were announced in assembly on the following Monday, and we know they are going to do a great job!
